Prayer at school.Dhuhr together.
Each school day, students from Grade 1 pray Dhuhr together, and older students help the younger ones learn the prayer.
Prayer times
Today’s prayer times in Little Rock.
The school will confirm
The prayer-times box calculates each day’s times with Adhan.js, matched to the Islamic Center of Little Rock (ICLR), which the school follows. Before it can go live, the calculation method and the Asr school (standard or Hanafi) must be confirmed by checking them against ICLR’s own published monthly timetable. A wrong Asr setting puts that time about an hour out.
Dhuhr at school
Dhuhr together, every school day.
Salah at Huda Academy is something children study in class and then practice together, with older students showing younger ones the way.
Every student from Grade 1 up prays Dhuhr at school. Because our school day runs from 8:00 to 3:25, Dhuhr falls inside it in every season, so it is prayed at school all year round.
Our daily prayer times follow the Islamic Center of Little Rock (ICLR), with IslamicFinder as a reference.
Salah is also a subject on the timetable from Grade 1. In class, children learn how to pray and why. At Dhuhr, they put it into practice alongside the older students.
Older students mentor the younger ones during salah time, helping them learn the prayer.
A young child learns to pray by praying beside older students they know. For the older ones, guiding younger children at prayer is an early lesson in responsibility.
The school will confirm
Whether Kindergarten and PreK children join Dhuhr or learn about prayer another way, and whether Asr is prayed at school in the winter months, when it can fall before the 3:25 dismissal.
Friday prayer
Jummah at school, every Friday at 1pm.
On Fridays, Dhuhr gives way to Jummah, the congregational Friday prayer, which we hold at 1pm.
A student gives the khutbah
The khutbah, the sermon that comes before the Friday prayer, is given by an older student. Speaking to the school about the faith takes preparation and courage, and it shows younger children that leading is something they will grow into.
Where it takes place
We share where Jummah takes place with the families of enrolled students. If your child is enrolled, our office can tell you.
The school will confirm
Whether parents may join Jummah at the school, and whether the 1pm time holds all year, including after daylight saving time ends.
The rest of
the Islamic day.
Prayer in the school day
Let prayer shape their day.
Children who pray together at school make prayer part of their day. We would be glad to welcome yours.
