Community & Giving

Lend a hand.Join the effort.

Families who want to give their time can start here, and the school office will help find where that time is most useful.

Ways to help

Where families can give their time.

A school runs on more than its staff. At Huda Academy, much of what happens beyond the timetable already depends on people giving their time, and families who want to help are welcome to ask where they are needed.

Volunteering is already part of school life. The after-school clubs are run by teachers who volunteer their time outside school hours, and the student council raises money in the school building and takes on projects for the school.

The school year also has its own occasions: graduation ceremonies for PreK, Kindergarten, Grade 5 and Grade 8, the science fair, the spelling bee and the Arabic spelling bee, and National History Day. These are the moments when a school community comes together, and where an extra pair of hands usually counts.

Giving in other ways

Time is one gift; there are others. The Give page explains how to support the school directly.

If you have a particular skill, a trade, or simply a few free hours in the week, tell the office. Knowing what families can offer helps the school match people to the places they are most useful.

Getting involved

How to offer your time to the school.

Every offer of help starts in the same place: a call or a message to the school office.

Start with the office

Call 501-565-3555 or send a message through the Contact page. Say what you would like to help with and when you are usually free, whether that is a regular hour each week or a single event in the year.

Before you volunteer

Schools usually ask volunteers who work with children to complete some checks first, and Huda Academy will tell you what applies before you begin.

The school will confirm

What volunteers must complete before helping at school (for example a background check or a sign-in procedure), who coordinates volunteers, and whether there is a sign-up form.

Many hands, one school

Put your talents to work.

Tell the office what you enjoy doing and when you have time, and we will find where your help matters.
